Band Boosters Update 3-23-17
Hello Band Families,
Both LHS winter guards will compete in the CWEA Indoor Championships this Saturday in Rock Hill. Tickets are required and can be purchased at the door.
The LHS JV Guard performs in the morning at Rock Hill HS; the Varsity Guard performs in the evening at Winthrop University. Come out and support our guard members as they compete in the state championships.
Congrats to the Winter Guard last weekend – Varsity placed 3rd and JV placed 2nd!
Note to Winter Guard Parents who are joining the Booster Club – the membership form is available on catband.com under Booster Club tab and checks are made out to LHSBB. Please attach check to form when turning in to the band box.
SC Day of Percussion
This Saturday, LHS will host the South Carolina Day of Percussion. This event is sponsored by the SC chapter of the Percussive Arts Society, and the day will include performances and clinics by outstanding percussionists and percussion ensembles from middle and high schools and from SC universities and colleges. Our percussionists will perform on Saturday morning and attend workshops and concerts throughout the day.

SCBDA Concert Performance Assessment
Our LHS ensembles performed on Tuesday at the SCBDA State Concert Performance Assessment. The Symphonic Band received an rating of “excellent” in concert and “superior” in sightreading, for an overall rating of “excellent.” The Wind Ensemble received ratings of “superior” from every judge, for an overall rating of “superior with distinction.”
Congratulations to our students for outstanding performances at this state-wide event.
Also, thank you to the parents and students who have volunteered throughout the week to assist with the operation of the event. Directors from around the state have expressed many positive comments regarding our students and parents, the organization and the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone they saw.

REMEMBER – April 6 (Thursday) SONIC DINNER NIGHT FOR WILDCAT BAND
- Need everyone in band to have dinner between 6-9 at Sonic in Lexington.
- We get a percentage of sales and all tips or donations.
- We need 8-12 people working that night as servers and greeters.
- BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY tell your friends and family to eat at Sonic April 6, 6-9 pm.
