Band Boosters Update 4-20-17
Hello Band Families!
Band and Guard Letters
Each year at the LHS Band Banquet, students who have met the criteria to earn a letter in band are awarded their letter (for the first year they are eligible) or star (for subsequent years after earning the letter). In order to receive a letter, band and guard members must complete a letter application form. Click HERE for the forms and the point values for the requirements for earning a letter. All application forms are due no later than Monday, May 8.
LHS Colorguard Auditions will occur Monday through Thursday, April 24-27, 2017 from 4-6 pm in the LHS Commons. Auditions are open to rising 8th-12thgraders who currently attend or will attend Lexington High School. Audition packets are available in the front offices of LHS, LMS & PHMS. Please wear athletic clothing you can move freely in along with socks and tennis shoes. You must attend all four audition dates in order to be considered for the guard. Jazz Band Concert – Saturday, May 6
The LHS and PHMS Jazz Bands will perform a free spring concert on Saturday, May 6 at the Icehouse Amphitheater in downtown Lexington. Several food trucks will be on-site offering a variety of foods and beverages, with a portion of the sales going to the band program. Come out and enjoy a wonderful evening of jazz presented by our talented students.

We are staffing 3 entrance gates at the Rosewood Crawfish Festival on Saturday May 6, 2017, from 9:45 am to 8:00 pm. Shifts will be 9:45a-3p and 3-8pm. You will collect payment for the festival and put arm bands on people entering the gates. Each student will get $25.00 per shift towards their Fair Share! We need at least 6 adults for each shift and 20 students for each shift. Lunch will be provided.

- Order forms and checks need to go in Band box on the wall in the Band Room before MAY 5th!
- Band students are FREE so only include the number of family members attending.
- There is a Vegetarian option on the form this year so let us know how many in your family prefer a Vegetarian Meal so we can plan accordingly.

In the Band Booster Meeting on Monday, we discussed the budget (see attached), revising the Bylaws (see attached) and Nominations for next year’s Executive Board. The following have been nominated:
