Ms. Pike earned her Master of Music Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi with an emphasis in wind band conducting. While at USM, she studied conducting with Dr. Thomas V. Fraschillo and Dr. Steven R. Moser, clarinet with Dr. Gregory Oakes and Dr. Jonathan Holden and served as a graduate assistant for the Southern Miss band program. She was a member of the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds clarinet section, the Concert Band euphonium section and was a teaching assistant for undergraduate conducting classes.
Ms. Pike graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina where she earned a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education. While at USC, Ms. Pike was a member of the clarinet section in the Mighty Sound of the Southeast marching band, the Symphonic Band and the Concert Band. She studied clarinet with Mr. Douglas Graham and Mr. Joseph Eller and conducting with Mr. James K. Copenhaver and Dr. Andrew Gowan. She was the recipient of a four-year South Carolina Teaching Fellows Scholarship and a four-year South Carolina Life Scholarship.
Prior to coming to Lexington High School, Ms. Pike was the band director at Robert Smalls Middle School in Beaufort, South Carolina. In 2010, she was recognized as the school’s Rookie Teacher of the Year.
Ms. Pike is an active clinician and performer. She has served as a woodwind instructor for the Lexington, Meadow Glen, Moultrie and Pleasant Hill middle school band programs and for the Bluffton, Hilton Head and Wando high school band programs. She performs with the Palmetto Concert Band and the Charleston Community Band. Ms. Pike is a member of the South Carolina Band Directors Association, the South Carolina Music Educators Association and the National Association for Music Educators.
